Publication Ethics

Journal of Healthcare Science and Management (JHSM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal adheres to internationally recognized ethical guidelines, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Ethical Principles

JHSM upholds the principles of:

  • Confidentiality

All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—are expected to adhere to these ethical standards.


2. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that:

Originality and Plagiarism

  • Submitted manuscripts are original works.

  • Proper acknowledgment and citation of others’ work are provided.

  • Manuscripts are free from plagiarism, including self-plagiarism.

Multiple or Concurrent Submission

  • The manuscript is not under review or published elsewhere.

Data Integrity

  • Research data are accurate, reliable, and not fabricated or manipulated.

  • Authors are prepared to provide raw data if requested.

Authorship

  • All listed authors have made significant contributions to the research.

  • All co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.

Conflict of Interest

  • Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

Ethical Approval

  • Research involving human participants must include ethical approval from an appropriate institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee.


3. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Making publication decisions based solely on academic merit.

  • Ensuring a fair and unbiased peer-review process.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

  • Avoiding conflicts of interest.

  • Taking appropriate action in cases of ethical misconduct.


4. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.

  • Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript.

  • Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.

  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest.

  • Refrain from using unpublished materials for personal advantage.


5. Publication Misconduct

JHSM does not tolerate:

  • Plagiarism

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Duplicate publication

  • Citation manipulation

  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest

Allegations of misconduct will be investigated following COPE guidelines. If proven, actions may include manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles, and notification to the authors’ institutions.


6. Corrections and Retractions

If significant errors or ethical issues are discovered after publication, JHSM will publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as appropriate.


7. Publisher’s Role
