Author Guidelines

Journal of Healthcare Science and Management (JHSM) welcomes original contributions in the fields of healthcare science, public health, and health services management. Authors are required to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth review and publication process.


1. Types of Manuscripts

JHSM accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles (systematic or narrative reviews)

  • Case Studies

  • Policy Analysis Papers

  • Short Communications

All submissions must be original and not under consideration by any other journal.


2. Manuscript Preparation

Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear and professional English.

Length

  • Original Research Articles: 4,000–8,000 words

  • Review Articles: up to 9,000 words

  • Short Communications: 2,000–3,000 words

(Word count includes references, tables, and figures.)

Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Spacing: 1.5 or double-spaced

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides


3. Manuscript Structure

Title Page

  • Concise and informative title

  • Full names of all authors

  • Institutional affiliations

  • Corresponding author’s email address

Abstract

  • 150–250 words

  • Structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion) for research articles

  • 3–5 keywords

Main Text

For research articles:

  1. Introduction

  2. Methods

  3. Results

  4. Discussion

  5. Conclusion

Review articles may use a suitable structure.

Acknowledgments

(Optional)

Conflict of Interest Statement

Authors must declare any conflicts of interest.

Funding Information

Specify funding sources, if applicable.

References

  • Must follow APA Style (7th Edition) (or specify style if different).

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Use recent and relevant sources (preferably within the last 10 years).


4. Tables and Figures

  • Must be numbered consecutively.

  • Provide clear captions.

  • Images must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).

  • Tables and figures must be cited in the text.


5. Ethical Requirements

  • Research involving human participants must include ethical approval details.

  • Informed consent must be stated where applicable.

  • Authors must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics policy.


6. Plagiarism Screening

All submissions will be checked using plagiarism detection software.
Manuscripts with high similarity index may be rejected.


7. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS). Authors are required to:

  • Register as an author

  • Upload manuscript file

  • Complete metadata information

  • Confirm compliance with ethical standards


8. Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Authors will be notified of editorial decisions after the review process.
